How Many PBN Links To Rank Higher On Search Engines?

So, you’ve decided to take control of your money site’s backlinks and want to know how many PBN links to rank higher on search engines!

In this guide you will learn it and how exactly what to do about PBN SEO in 2021 and beyond.

You’ll create a private blog network (PBN).

And that’s how you plan on beating your competitors to the top spot.

But how many PBN sites will you need?

How many domains and hostings and control panels do you need?

Well, to answer that question, it is important to understand the basics first.

Backlinks – The Base of PBNs

The sites in your private blog network are not valuable in themselves. They are valuable only when you can get backlinks from these sites to your money site.

Backlinks are, after all, the most important ranking factor on Google.

So, to begin with, you need to find out how many backlinks you need.

Now suppose you ascertain that you need 50 backlinks to improve your ranking.

So, you’d require at least 20 to 25 PBN sites. This is because you cannot get all your backlinks from the same site. You need a diverse backlink portfolio.

And how do I find the required number of backlinks?

Unfortunately, I don’t have a fixed formula to share.

Neither do I have a regression model or prediction chart.

How many backlinks, and consequently how many PBN sites you need, is something you’ll have to find out for yourself.

But what I can do for you is: tell you the five most important factors when deciding how many backlinks and PBN sites you need.

Factors That Matter

1.   How Competitive Is Your Niche?

There are 1500 dating sites and apps in the world.

And there are 437,540 law firms in the U.S. alone.

It isn’t hard to tell what niche is more competitive.

If you want your dating site to rank, 10 PBN sites might be more than enough.

For American lawyers, however, 10 PBN blogs won’t make the cut.

So the first step you need to do is ascertain the competitiveness of your niche. The higher the competition, the higher will be the number of backlinks and PBN sites you’ll need.

2.  How Competitive Are Your Keywords?

Other than your niche, the keywords you choose to rank on also determine how many PBN sites you’d need.

Look at the keyword suggestions from Spyfu:

While SEO Birmingham, Al has a monthly search volume of 150, SEO Birmingham has a search volume of 100. And there is Birmingham SEO in between, with 125 searches per month.

There could be even other keywords with higher or lower search volumes. Depending on what keywords you want to rank for and how competitive they are, you can build fewer or more PBN sites.

3.  How Sound Is Your On-Page SEO?

Do you already have a sound on-page SEO position?

You might be able to rank your money site with a smaller private blog network.

Some of the on-page SEO factors that you need to bolster to make do with fewer PBN sites include:

  • Unique and keyword containing meta title and description for all the pages on your site.
  • Alt tags for all images.
  • Internal linking on the site to facilitate smoother navigation.
  • Canonical tags on all the pages.
  • Relevant Schema markups.

Backlinks are not the only factor that Google crawlers consider while ranking sites. If you can get ahead with other factors, you can cut yourself some slack on the backlink front.

The better your on-page SEO position, the smaller can your private blog network be.

4.  How Many Organic Backlinks You Have?

As I had mentioned earlier, the number of PBN sites you need depends on how many backlinks you need.

Suppose you need 200 backlinks to climb up the SERPs ladder. Now, assume you already have around a hundred organic backlinks. So, you need to determine the number of PBN sites for 100 backlinks and not 200.

Depending on how many or how few organic backlinks you receive, you can decrease or increase the number of PBN sites you create.

Already have a good number of high-quality organic backlinks?

Creating a smaller PBN will also suffice.

5.   Your Competitor’s Backlink Profile

You also need to consider what your direct competitors are doing. You need to beat them, and for that, you need to first understand them.

For that, you should start by analyzing your competitor’s backlink profile. You can use tools like Ahrefs or SEMRush for that.

Once you know the quantity and quality of your competitor’s backlinks, you can find out how many backlinks of what quality you will need. And that will help you determine the number of PBN sites you need to create.

Keep The Cost In Mind

Based on the five factors discussed, you can easily calculate how many PBN sites you’d need. However, I suggest you don’t start working on all your PBN sites at once.

Suppose you determine that you need 25 PBN sites to outrun your competitors.

Now, you can, of course, start by buying 25 domains. But then you’d have to get hosting for all of them at once. And you will have to work on growing them simultaneously.

But that is likely to be tough. And, of course, resource-draining.

A simpler alternative would be to start with a couple of PBN sites first. At SeekaHost, we have special cheap PBN Hosting for you. You can start by buying expired or new domains from here. Then host all the sites with one unified dashboard. You will also get a one-click WordPress installation with the SeekaHost app.

And as you scale your private blog network, you can upgrade to higher PBN hosting plans.

Now, don’t wait up anymore. Start calculating how many backlinks and PBN sites you’d need. Then get the domains and hosting and rank higher on search engines.
